Meet Dr. Bob

Dr. Bob Aarestad, D.C.

Hi, I’m Dr. Bob Aarestad Jr. My journey into chiropractic care has been shaped by a passion for helping others, a strong work ethic, and a deep connection to the Central Illinois community I call home.

I graduated from Washington High School in 2003.

After high school, I worked in the automotive industry as a mechanic—an experience that taught me discipline, precision, and practical problem-solving skills that I still use today. Eventually, I followed my interest in health and performance to Illinois State University, where I studied athletic training and earned a degree in Kinesiology and Recreation in 2010. I moved to Peoria shortly after and began working in the fitness and wellness industry.

In 2013, while working as both a personal trainer and licensed massage therapist, I was referred to work at the office of Dr. Mark Werking, D.C. That opportunity would change the trajectory of my life. Within six weeks, I knew—without a doubt—that God was calling me to make a major life change. I remember the exact moment I felt the clarity to pursue chiropractic as my life’s purpose. It was one of those rare and powerful moments that stays with you forever. In 2015 I enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport IA ready to begin my next chapter.

Over the next 4 years, I would meet my wife, Tierney Burdett and we would begin building our life together. With her love and support I would be able to focus on school, national exams and all the responsibilities that come with being a scholarship athlete. After graduating from Palmer in 2019, we got engaged and relocated to Plainfield, IL, with her two boys—Roman and Brooks—so I could join Dr. Luke Loutriet at the Pain and Wellness Group. Later that year, our family grew again when we welcomed our son, Robert Aarestad III—whom we call Trey.

We spent six wonderful years in the Naperville/Plainfield area, raising our family, growing in our faith, and serving our community. In time, though, we felt a deep pull back to our roots. We believe God is leading us back to Central Illinois to serve the community that helped raise us.

Now, I’m excited to be opening my own chiropractic practice right here in Washington, IL. Tierney is launching her own business while running our homestead, raising our three boys, and caring for her aging father.

We’re incredibly grateful for the journey that brought us here and look forward to serving our community with compassion, faith, and the lessons life has taught us along the way
