Alicia Howe, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
As a licensed clinical professional counselor, I specialize in helping individuals navigate the often-overwhelming challenges of anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).I have been practicing as a counselor since 2011. I understand how isolating and exhausting these conditions can be—and how difficult it can be to ask for help. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to begin making meaningful changes.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-based. I draw from proven therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, and mindfulness-based interventions to support healing and long-term resilience. I completed my training for the treatment of OCD through the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute. The training also covered other co-occurring disorders such as TICS/Tourette’s and PANS/PANDAS.
Whether you’re feeling stuck in negative thought patterns, overwhelmed by persistent worries, or trapped in compulsive behaviors, you are not alone—and things can get better. Change is possible, and it starts with a conversation.
If you’re ready to take that first step, I’m here to walk with you.

I would love the opportunity to help clients learn how this applies to emotions.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT MY FIRST SESSION?
Your first session will be more of an information gathering session. The session will start first by addressing the “business” aspects of the counseling process. We will go over confidentiality. I will ask questions regarding symptoms, developmental history and family history. We will set goals based on the information collected. If you are a parent bringing your child in for counseling, the first session may only be with the parent collecting information. If you are a parent bringing in an adolescent/teen, I will spend the first portion of the session with the parent collecting information, and then the second portion of the session building rapport with your adolescent/teen.
